Xterm with transparency and resizing

I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 with Fluxbox.

I currently have a keybind setup to open Xterm. When I do this, I have to resize it every time. As it takes up half the screen. I'm also running dual monitors. I'd also like to set it up to be transparent. This is from my XTerm file in my home directory. I've tried changing the geometry setting however it doesn't seem to do anything.

Code:
XTerm*Background: black
XTerm*Foreground: green
XTerm*transparent: true
XTerm*font: 9x15
XTerm*saveLines: 1000
XTerm*HiForeColor: white
XTerm*HiBackColor: #c06077
XTerm*geometry: 79x25

If you have that in ~/.Xdefaults it should control xterm.
You could also launch xterm with
Code:
xterm -geometry 79x25

I'm assuming this file should be in my home directory? But it's not? I created it and it's still the same.

Alright, I managed to fix the resize. Apparently in my keys file there had already been specified the size on the keybind.

Now I'm just stuck trying to figure out the transparancy.

Can't help you with your question but just wanted to make sure that you knew that ~/.whatever is a hidden file in your /home/<user name> directory.

To view these in most (all I have ever used) file mangers and browsers you hit Ctrl + h.

This is where all your user specific config files live.

I was actually able to figure it out. I can use transparency using xcompmgr However, my video card freaks out when I do this.
At least now I know. lol
