Someone told me that in the next major release they are going to include that XGL stuff I seen over ate Linuxedge.org
Anyone else heard much about this? I just started using Unbuntu not too long ago and I'm interested in knowing.
If its not going to be installed by default on the next release (or even if it is), is this something that can be downloaded via Apt? I haven't seen it anywhere on my lists.
Ok, thanks. I wouldn't know if its in Dapper yet or not. I'm using Breezy, I like being on something stable since being a noob, I tend to find ways to crash linux as it is.
I think that I read something about that Xgl will be implemented by default in the final release of Dapper Drake
perhaps in the next release, but definitely not in dapper...

Just to be clear, there are packages for XGL in Ubuntu Dapper, but they will not be installed by default, are not officially supported and might or might not break your system.
i just downloaded the new suse 10.1 images and did a fresh install on an extra computer i had laying around, and its nuts!
theres a few bugs though, if you've heard of people losing their window titles and whanot, its true, but its easy to fix. hopefully it'll just work by the time dapper comes out.
