I've been trying to set up my BroadCom Wireless card on my hp 6715b laptop.
I tried with ndiswrapper and tried following different instructions on how
to install it but failed every time. I just have noticed that my Wireless led diode( not sure if it is called that way) does not shine. I tried with
$lspci - v just to find that my card is not recognized( but it was when I started to install the drivers!)
I don't know that one, but I installed Suse 10.2 on a Dell Inspiron with a Broadcom BCM4318 and that worked fine using the XP drivers that came with the laptop. I used the instructions from here: http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/j...iki/Itemid,33/
Before the installation did your "lspci" show that you have a wlan card?
Mine used to but not anymore. It shows the the ethernet card but no wlan
card. I tried turning on wlan by pressing the wlan button on the laptop but it doesnt turn on. It this supposed to be like that?
Meanwhile I'll try again with the driver that works in WinXp...
I'm not sure if this is allowed but I wanted to post a link to another
ubuntu forum which has a great way of installing the bcm43xx wireless cards
the easy way :-)
