Where is Kubuntu trash

I won't use Dolphin. But I would like to have the Trash icon on the Desktop. How can I do this? I am comfortable with using BASh.

Thanks!

Your question is definitely lacking detail, so my answer might not be exactly what you want:
The trash is where every freedesktop trash is, in a hidden folder called
Code:
.Trash*
or in
Code:
$HOME/.local/share/Trash*
The * is a placeholder; it could be -1000, or nothing.

Right-click the desktop and select "Create New->Link to Location (URL)..." and put in "trash:/" for the location.
Rename it to Trash if you want.

For some reason, they have decided to not put a trash on the desktop and you can't make it appear through the System Settings.
It is bad design.
For example, when you create the Trash icon like that, you can right click on it and do Open with Kate, which makes no sense.
You can even do Send to Trash.

And here I figured Kubuntu does not come with the locate command . Or even Searchmonkey

Code:
sudo updatedb
Code:
locate trash
One needs to learn to drive these things

Good luck.

Hmmmm.

Trash can be accessed in ~/.local/share/Trash/, but the widget's code uses the url shortcut, so there probably is not a simple method to change it.
above is from Kubuntu forums.
