what is a good desklet/widget application suite for Ubuntu?

Hello,
I would like to know if there is an application out there that works that will put little widgets/desklets on my desktop similar to the ones in OS X and windows vista.

I download the application called "desklets" but unfortunately the weather application doesnt work well. Do any of you guys have a recommendation?

thanks,

There a number to choose from, particularly for clocks and weather. Don't work well has a subjective ring to it. What do you mean, bad data, crash or perhaps don't work the way you'd like. If you right click a gdesklet you can examine the code. You'll note that it's XML and relatively simple. You can change them to suit your personal tastes and or requirements and publish the results to share with the rest of the community.

I apologize for not clarifying myself.

I tried setting up the weather desklet and even though I type in the city and country I dont get the weather data. I also tried going to the weather channel and putting the url for my city but it still does not work (yahoo also uses the weather channel for its weather info).

If someone can tell me how to set this up that would be great
