Want to modify Ubuntu liveCD

My need is not to remaster a gnoppix liveCD (ubuntu based).

I just want to add a custom HTML file and its images diretory and an autorun.bat in order to make the HTML appears under windoz (autorun). This HTML is to explain howto boot the livecd (...let the CD in the drive, shutdown, blablabla...) + some advertisement for a LUG .

I don't want to change anything inside the liveCD...

The problem is that the liveCD failed to boot properly after adding these files.

I tried to remaster = KO!
I tried to rebuilt the md5sum.txt = KO!
I tried without md5sum.txt = KO!

Has somebody a solution?

Thanks in advance.

The live cd already has an autorun. You're changing that.
However

http://wiki.linux.net.nz/UbuntuRemastering

talks about remastering the CD.
You want the adding packages part - don't worry that the example isn't specific to you.

Thumbs up

Hi Simon,

I think the solution is there... I was missing creating the new signature file...

I will try this wiki.

Thanks

No sweat - while you're there, the WLUG people have a script for Ubuntu which scans your hardware then directs you to pages explaining what you have and how to tweak it for optimum performance.

Let us know how you got on with the remastering.
