Ever since my son got the wireless working on the router, I can't download my Ubuntu updates. Maybe I need to open up a port because the error message I get lists a port number when it says connection refused. Where do I go in the router setup to change this? Any ideas are welcome and appreciated. Gary

Gary,
You will need to do this from a Hardwired PC, unless you have wireless management on.
you need to go to the Linksys admin page, this is your gateway address for your router, generally 192.168.1.1
you need to login
you need to go to a section called port forwarding
you need to type in the port TCP and UDP, and then tell it the IP address of the machine it is openeing this to, in linux you type sudo ifconfig
This should help you out.
