I'm sure that someone else has had this issue, or is currently having it.
I just switched from Fedora 7 to Ubuntu Feisty Fawn 7. whatever.

Im using it on a Dell notebook, Pent 4 processor, 512mb

One of my friends was raving about Ubuntu, so I thought I would give it a shot.........

Ok, it installed great, everything was configured fine, rebooted, started using it at the office, everything ran great.

Two days went by without an issue, then suddenly, it would boot all the way up to the desktop screen, then freeze. The mouse doesnt work, the touchpad doesnt work, NOTHING WORKS.

I held down the power button, and rebooted, and each time, it did the same thing. Finally on the 5th time, it booted all the way up.

Any ideas at all would be greatly appreciated.

p.s. I have not updated anything, added anything, or taken anything away, since the install. I use it mostly for email, and web browsing.

Have You had a look in Your log files? Could be hardware or anything really.

i have a SIMILIER problem when itll booting up the hardrive will just stop..... for no reason... then the next time i restart its fine
