[SOLVED] Ubuntu reset network issue

I am trying to simply restart all network interfaces in my ubuntu 12.Ubuntu Server 12.04.3 LTS

# uname -a
Linux 131-128 3.8.0-33-generic #48~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Thu Oct 24 16:28:06 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

What I tried first was:

# /etc/init.d/networking restart

but then I got msg that his method is deprecated .
So, I tried with this: services method
And here is what is happening:

# service networking stop
stop: Unknown instance:

So, how the heck I restart networking in Ubuntu ???

service network-manager restart

It doesnt work as well.

# service network-manager restart
network-manager: unrecognized service

I tried already other options - all failed.

# service network
networking                   network-interface            network-interface-container  network-interface-security

to take down all interfaces run.

sudo ifdown -a

To bring them backup.

sudo ifup -a
