Ubuntu and ATI AIW cards

I am curious to know if folks have had any success with using an ATI All In Wonder video card? Mine is a 9600, and I very much want to be able to use the TV and recording features.

I see some web pages where folks are working it, so I wonder if its something that can be done, or is still very much an alpha type configuration?

Anyone using it? Anyone find it to be a non workable solution at the moment?

Thanks.

John

Hi John,

I have a 9200 VIVO too but the only things that you can get to work on any ATI hardware are the 2D and 3D. Video capture is not possible on any of ATI's hardware. This is because of ATI/AMD's refusal to release any specs for the opensource drivers to be written.

Sorry to bring in the bad news.
