ubuntu 11.10 - startup daemons - what/how to disable


hello everyone,
i recently installed ubuntu 11.10 and i want to know what daemons starts up with my system, which one is safe to disable (i'm using standalone desktop computer with adsl router and webcam - i dont have printer and any other peripheral) and how to do it?

Upstart is the init system used by Ubuntu and most scripts are either in /etc/init or /etc/init.d
