I understand what you are saying. I have been trying to move away from windows for 4 years. Kubuntu finally did it for me. I am kind of a "forum whore" but sometimes I just have to run away from the official one

I'm currently using Ubuntu, and here's why. (17 years old btw)

I used to be a BIG Linux... I don't know how to put it, I guess I just really wanted to use Linux because it was something different. My dad turned me onto Linux when I was like 8 or 9, back when we were running an old version of Mandrake. But we had gotten rid of that for a while and I had yearned to bring it back.

So I did just that, and I did it for quite a while. I ran SuSE at first for a while then I experimented with some other distros like Slackware, when I thought I had grown out of SuSE. That was fun for a while but then school started demanding more from me, so I didn't have the time to mess with Linux that much anymore.

So then I was introduced to Ubuntu (I forget how), and I just loved it-- it was so easy to use... installing and removing things is easier than it is on XP. That was when Ubuntu was at the 4.10 stage. I've been using it off and on for a while, but now its my full time OS.

I think that everyone has the right to use linux, *BSD and every free software. This is the idea, to be free and open to everybody. I use Linux since Red Hat 4.x. After that Mandrake, Fedora, Slackware, Debian and finally Kubuntu because i got bored of kernel and modules compiling etc. It's a true waste of time to search the whole internet in order to have my brand new bluetooth keyboard and mouse to work properly. That's why i like Kubuntu, and i want many users to participate. Consider that this little kid after a few years maybe become a contributor and helps your brand new wifi card to get recognised and installed automatically by your distro.
