I'm on my school's webteam, and I'm running Ubuntu (Hoary), and I've been needing some updates from synaptic. Unfortunately, these servers are blocked by the school's proxy server. So, I need some mirrors...

Are you sure it's just the update site you're requesting that has been blocked and not the request type being blocked completely?
