I'm having a rather torrid time with Cacti on my Ubuntu 6.06 server box.
I've installed cacti as per the instructions on help.ubuntu.com. It all works fine, I can log in, create graphs etc.
However, I have this error "SNMP not in use" and have no idea on how to try and fix this. I've reinstalled php-snmp which went on without errors. After a lengthy Google I’ve got really come up with anything to solve this problem.
Any tips on how to fix this or get the error message logs would be greatly appreciated.
Few things to check:
- the SNMP arguments like community and pass are set,
- SNMP is running on the host to monitor,
- firewall on either side blocking SNMP requests,
- elicit a response with "snmpwalk".
