Setting a Lenovo T60 up for a 9 year and 6 year old little girls. I have given Admin to the mother and as I install games I seem not to get them in for the girls to play with. Several are XP games that run in wine but I also plan to install a lot more games from get deb but having set mom as admin and the girls as regular, all installs are done from the admin account and really need help.
Installing would always need to be done from an admin(root) account. Are you not able to execute the files to start the games or what exactly is the problem? Maybe some details on a game or two you have tried and someone may be familiar with them. What have you done to try to start any game?
Hi yanec,
I was working two WinXP Games, installed with wine 1.6 and I am guilty of being sloppy in my trouble shooting. The games that are native can be searched in the Dash and in the Classic Menu they are right where they belong leaving me with the issue of using Wine in the Normal Accounts and thereby issues with Zuma Delux, Ultra Mah Jongg, DX Ball 2 and four or five more I plan to install for them but all will be run in wine. If I try to install them in one of the girls accounts with mom's PW I get the standard you do not have permission message.
On one other issue in the Admin, mom's account, I installed Virtual Box and loaded it with Win XP Black Edition but I am having issues using the virtual hdd created in mom's account for the girls. I tried changing permissions on the folder and checked the contents box but I'm going to go back at it in the morning.
If it matters I'm running the T60 with three gig RAM with 1.5 designated to the power sucking windoze and the processor is an Intel dual core 1.8g.
