Programming

Wants to get into programming etc.

Would like to know the best program out there for taking apart, and re-compiling programs.
Goal is simple, to build a better mousetrap.

What are your recommendations?

well the easiest way, i imagine, to take apart a piece of software and recompile it, is to have the sourcecode. this means that most linux or other OSS will work.
the best program to do this? simple text editor and simple compiler--both of which are probably installed on your machine right now.

if it isnt open source software youll have a more difficult route. i imagine since its closed-source, if you take it apart, edit, and recompile it, it would be illegal--check the software agreements.

if you just want to learn programming (from scratch), pick a language, and start reading some tutorials! check out the programming forum here.

hope this helps.

What kind of programming are you interested in? Kernel? Web applications? Programming is a huge field. We can probably better advise you if we knew more specifics.

Hi and thanks,

I think that I would be interested in Kernal, or Dependencies.
I wish to make a driver for Canon i320 printer.
I do have some C++ programming experience.
