problem installing usbwifi with ndiswrapper

hello everybody!! I'm new at the forum

I have a problem installing mi dlink dlw-g122 wireless usb adapter.

I installed the drivers, in fact when executing

ndiswrapper -l

the output is

dr71wu driver present, hardware present

but when I try to execute

modprobe ndiswrapper

I have this error:

FATAL : Error inserting ndiswrapper (/lib/modules/2.6.12.9-386/kernel/drivers/net/ndiswrapper/ndiswrapper.ko): Operation not permetted

any idea??
thank you!!!

You need to have root permissions to load a module.

Code:
sudo modprobe ndiswrapper

I'm sorry I didn't write that I've already executed the command as root. This doesn't solve the problem..

Do you still get an error when you attempt to load ndiswrapper as root, or does it just seem that the driver still doesn't work?
If you don't receive an error when you attempt to load the module as root, do you see ndiswrapper in your lsmod output?
