problem: can't find any program in synaptic Package manager

Hi!
I'm new in Linux ... plz help me

(run ubuntu8.1 on WinXp with Vbox)

The problem is that:
Although i'm connected to the internet ,
i can't find 'Kdevelop' (for example) in the 'synaptic Package manager'

it seem like just there, the internet doesn't work.
what to do?

Check "Software Soureces" Preferences. You notice that in addition to the "main" source there are also universe, restricted and multiverse. They should all be checked. Although not applicable in this case additional 3rd party software repositories can be added.
