I recently got a Bluetooth dongle and separate earpiece. The Dongle is detected automatically when inserted and seems to work OK. However, when I get it to search for Bluetooth devices to pair with it won't find my earpiece (both of them are switched on and in close proximity). I'm trying to get it setup to work with Voxforge but it can't detect the earpiece (I have no other Bluetooth devices to test it against). I managed to get them to pair easily on Windows so I know they are compatible. I tried it on Kubuntu Edgy and Fiesty and got nowhere on either, any one any ideas?

Bluetooth drivers need to be installed with synaptic. Do a synaptic search on "bluetooth". In your case I believe you want "kdebluetooth", gnome uses bluez packages. In order to use a bluetooth headset you may also need to install an additional package just for the headset. With gnome it would be bluez-btsco. My first hand experience is solely with Ubuntu gnome. There will be some configuration involved to get it all working. There are a number of howto's available. Google will be your friend as will http://www.ubuntuforums.org
