i posted at ubuntu's forums, my only beef there is that after my post being there for a few hours, its already two pages back behind countless other questions. for now, im givin up on my desktop until i get a DVI monitor (or find another distro that will show up on any monitor in my house), but seeing as im going to transfer to a university soon, im definately getting a laptop and putting ubuntu on that. thanks for all your help
