NIS Client can not login to NIS Master Server
How do I login into the NIS Master Server from the NIS Client?
This is the process I follow to setup the NIS Master Server & NIS Client:
Setting up NIS Master Server
1)Made sure NIS is installed
--$sudo apt-get install NIS
2)Made sure portmapper is running
--$rpcinfo -p
3)Made sure client & server daemons are running
--$sudo /etc/init.d/nis start
--$sudo ypserv
4)Setted the NIS Domain name
--$sudo nisdomainname user-desktop
5)Created a user (the one I want to be able to login into NIS Master Server)
--$sudo adduser guest (or useradd, i forgot :P)
--$sudo passwd guest
6)Created NIS Maps
--$sudo /usr/lib/yp/ypinit -m
Setting up NIS Client
1)Made sure NIS is installed
2)Made sure portmapper is running
3)****How do I start ypbind?
4)Setted the NIS domain name
5)Edited yp.conf & put the IP addess of the NIS server
6)Tried to login in as the created user and got "Invalid username or password..."
Is there something else I need to do?
