In ubuntu 5.10
system > administration > networking
(password opens the "network settings" dialog)
select "ethernet connection" and configure accordingly.
of course - you may need a driver, possibly through ndiswrapper.
google your card name and number with "ubuntu" or "linux". Also search the forums here. There are many howtos for this.
