Multi-user GNOME via Ethernet
I am configuring a new Ubuntu (12.4) box. The user community consists of over one hundred mental health workers who use whatever company computer is nearest when they need it. Some of them will need to access this Ubuntu box and use an application with a graphics interface. These users are not very computer literate.
I need to enable these users, via a simple shortcut on a Windows desktop, start a VNC or RDP session on the Ubuntu box which displays a login screen to allow them to log in, start a GNOME session and access this application. Each user will need their own Ubuntu user account - but I know how to do that.
How do I configure a server, such as vncserver, (and any other software needed) to allow this?
Thank you.
