line in problem with Kubuntu

I am running kubuntu 7.04.
How do I accecess the "line in"
I want to be able to load cassets and LPs for transfer to CDs
I have installed "adacity", but it does not see the input devices connected to the "line in" port.

Help would be appreciated.

Check in your audio mixer to make sure that the "line-in" is not muted or disabled. Or that the volume is set too low.

I ran into an issue with my Audigy2 Platinum that the line-in was at a very low volume, and once I boosted it up all was well...
