I want to try out Plasma 5 for a while, and from what I understand, Kubuntu 15.04 is in late beta stage with Plasma 5, and Kubuntu 14.10 has a Plasma 5 option that is considered a Tech Preview. With your opinions, experience, and judgement, which would be more stable, a Tech Preview or RC stage Plasma 5 Kubuntu?
I'm mainly looking to see if anyone has happened to use both and has a feel for which is better. Thanks though. I'm thinking of having Kubuntu 14.10 and adding Unity so I have Ubuntu as a backup if the 15.04 snapshot scares me.
I don't know the answer to your question on Ubuntu, sorry.
I am also interested in the new Plasma 5, so I tried out the (stable) Netrunner 15. http://www.netrunner.com/netrunner-15/
It works pretty well.
The KF5 on openSUSE seems to have gotten itself together over the last 6 months, but for now I just want to play with it occasionally rather than use it by default (I avoided KDE4 until 11.2). For now, dual booting with Kubuntu 15.04 keeps me in the loop with Ubuntu and gives me KDE 5. I'll probably set up an openSUSE with KF5 to see what it's like in the upcoming months.
Haha - indeed. I installed Beta 2. Had some trouble with searching within Dolphin and had a Plasma crash once or twice in the 3-4 hours I've been using it. So far about as stable at KDE 4.1 was.
