I've been trying to run ubuntu 6.10 on kernel 2.4.33.3 for a whole day.. and i'm not succeed yet.. there is no problem when compiling it, i manage to make the linux image using make-kpkg but when i run the new kernel.. the system freeze on boot with a message that says "Kernel too old"..

Does anybody know how to make this work.. i need to run on kernel 2.4 because i want to use my internal conexant modem which i only have the full 56k driver that support kernel 2.4 only..

Any help would be appriciated
