I'm new to ubuntu nd am coming from redhat. With Fedora Core 3, I installed both gnome and kde and then used their "switchdesk" command to switch between the two. Since I haven't installed both on the outset when installing ubuntu, I wonder if it is possible to load the kubuntu packages now and use kde with ubuntu instead of gnome. Am I making sense? ;-)
I'm not an Ubuntu expert (only just got my hands on it) and I don't use KDE (or Gnome), but I believe you can just run apt-get install kde (or do an apt-cache search kde , then do an apt-get install whatever). If that doesn't work you can probably find the Kubuntu repositories and add them to your list. Good luck!
