I have two volume icons on Ubuntu 9.04 after upgrading

I recently upgraded from 8.10 to 9.04 (It's an odd reason, but I'd rather like to keep it-too lazy to downgrade again) and now have two volume icons, which is apparently the result of some odd glitch since they changed it. So, I ask: How do I get rid of it?

Right-click on one of them and select "Remove from Panel".

Cheers

Sadly, it's not that simple. Only one of them has that option, and it's the improved one from Jaunty. So that won't work.
Any other ideas?

Since Ubuntu 9.04 is the next release and is still in alpha-4a you should contact Ubuntu and report the problem. There are 2 more scheduled alpha releases before the beta is released. This is not yet a finished product and is bound to have issues. No one on this forum is likely to have much experience with the 4th alpha release of a product so you should go to:
