Having Trouble installing limewire? Try this instead!

Hello Everybody!

Well...

I am slowly but surely learning how to install 'Limewire' onto my different OS's with little or no problem.

BUT...

I have recently been turned onto another P2P that installs without any need to know how to use your 'Terminal!'

Although it is alot of fun to be able to do things with the 'Terminal', it can be very frustrating for the 'newbie' who is use to 'Point and Click' type installations!

It's called 'FrostWire.' My guess is it was created and is maintained by the same makers of 'limeWire' because it Looks and Acts the exact same way but was created specifically with 'Linux' in mind.

You can get it here: http://www.frostwire.com click on the 'Ubuntu/debian' link and a window will pop up. choose to 'Open with gdebi Package installer' and BAM!! You now are ready to download ur favorite tunes! (You Must First have J2re or equivilant installed)

If you dont have the correct 'Java' installed then just make sure you enable 'Universe/Multiverse' in your /etc/apt/sources.list. Then do a 'sudo apt-get update' in the terminal
and open up 'synaptic package manager' do a search (Cntrl+f)
Type in 'java' and scroll until you find 'j2re' or 'jdk...' install it and your good-to-go!

Hope this Helps! See Ya!

Or, we could skip the promoting of music/movie/software piracy and just keep our torrent software which has the nice legal use of downloading linux isos when new distros come out.

Thankfully randell, you are in the minority, and people do believe it's wrong. So stick it.
