g++ 4.1 in ubuntu 10.10

I used ubuntu 10.04 lucid and in the default repository, g++ 4.1 was present. However in the new version 10.10, there is no g++ 4.1. Any idea?

Agreed. The g++ and gcc the OP is trying to install is extremely *old*.

The application I have is now unsupported and under new compilers, I get a lot of compiler errors. Any way, any repository for 4.1?

@ mahmoodn, I agree, gcc-4.1 / g++-4.1 : Nice to have.

Either add some "lucid lines" to your repo,
or just use the Lucid packages : g++-4.1 → →
http://packages.ubuntu.com/en/lucid/g++-4.1
Dependencies: gcc-4.1 gcc-4.1-base cpp-4.1
http://packages.ubuntu.com/en/lucid/cpp-4.1
.

What is the difference between "g++-4.1-multilib" and "g++-4.1"?

g++-4.1-multilib : I'd guess, it can be used, if you
compile for a different architecture.

Requires a lot of dependencies installed.
Don't install it. Unless you want trouble.
