Firewire Ubuntu

I am trying to setup a channel-changer for Mythtv. I test out some or them and I get this message:
Quote:
Couldn't get 1394 handle: No such file or directory
Is ieee1394, driver, and raw1394 loaded?
I am assuming this means that Firewire isn't set-up or at least not properly set-up. I couldn't find librom1394 for Ubuntu,Debian,or even a tarball. So perhaps that is the problem. libavc1394,libraw1394, and the -dev packages are installed through Synaptic. Thanks for the help.
