Dual monitor almost working

Hi there,

I am running Ubuntu 7.04 with an ATI X1600 Pro vid card. I've used the aticonfig tool and have managed to make the dual monitor setup work except it only works before I log in. Once I log in it appears that the settings revert back to default (screen simply cloned on second monitor).

I guess I've done the right thing and it works so there must be a user specific xorg.conf file? Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks
Dennis

So Dual screens works properly for 1 User, and does not work for the second user?

If thats the case, then it would appear its what you said, each user has its own xorg.conf(I'm not really sure, but I don't think thats the case). Maybe you could manually edit xorg.conf to setup Dual Screens.

Well actually what I meant was the it works when I first boot and get to the ubuntu login screen. At the login screen it spans both monitors and I can freely move the mouse from one to the other. As soon as I log in (with any user account) it reverts back to simply cloning the desktop on both monitors. This is what lead be to think there may be user specific files or settings somewheres. I can't seem to find it though.
