Connections to Apache server timing out

Hello --

A colleague of mine set up a Vmware virtual server running Ubuntu 18.04 64-bit system running the Apache web 2.4.29 package. The application OpenProject with its bundled Postgres database was subsequently installed as well.

We have noticed that connections to the webpage are timing out. The network connectivity to and from the server appears to be running at ten gigabits. The amount of memory that has been assigned to the server is currently two gigabytes. This amount is based on there being no desktop GUI, and the memory being dynamically allocated to the server.

I suspect the memory configuration is the cause of the timing out, and I would rather have the configuration set to eight gigabytes, without dynamic allocation. Before I do that, I wanted to see if there were other possibilities. Thanks.

Firewall dropping the packets maybe?

Code:
iptables -L -n
If I remember correctly, openproject keeps its own log instead of using the syslog. Look at the most recently changed files in /var/log/openproject and see if there is anything relevant.

For memory usage:

Code:
free -m
Anything in the cache column on the far right is allocatable. The kernel uses unallocated memory as an I/O cache, so the free column is almost always low. -m is for megabytes.

Hello --

Thank-you for suggestions. I turned off, and disabled the firewalld daemon, and it appears that has helped solve the problem.
