compiling with "Nothing to make for all"

I'm trying to install the graphics driver for Mesa3D. It configures fine but when I try to *make* it, it says "make: Nothing to be done for `all'."

any ideas?

thanx,
Mike

Maybe there's nothing to do?

try "make clean" then "make" to recompile
