Question commit the changes

Hi,

I am booting my Ubuntu Linux using a flash drive. Can I commit the changes made before restarting or shutting down?

Thank you,
Fahd

Thank you for replying.

In Alpine linux there is a command: lbu commit, which save the newly configured settings to your flash drive. Is there something similar in Ubuntu?

Thank you
Fahd

That doesn't tell us whether you are using the flash drive with boot files to boot Ubuntu on a hard drive or other medium, whether you did a full install of Ubuntu to the flash drive, or whether you have a Live CD of Ubuntu on the flash drive or a Live CD of Ubuntu on the flash drive with persistence. Which is it? How did you put Ubuntu on the flash drive?

An example of two of the type of changes would be useful.

Thank you for these questions.

I have booted my pc with a Live CD of Ubutu on the flash drive. I created this bootable flash drive using the tool unetbootin-windows-575.exe. I did not have it installed on my pc. it is just been used to boot my pc from the USB flash drive.

Thank you,
Fahd
