Changing 12.0.4 64-bit file display from icon to details

I am checking out Ubuntu 12-0.4 64-bit distro, and don't like the icon/thumbnail display for files or programs when I go into a directory. What settings can I adjust, and where, so that the native display is filename, characteristics, type, etc?

Thanks.

What file manager are you using? If it is not nautilus,

Code:
sudo apt-get install nautilus
and you can use nautilus to do what you want.
