Ubuntu 7.04 logout logs kindof out but not completely

Does the subject line describe the problem?

Are you doing this from the panel or from terminal?

Can you shut down or restart from the panel or terminal?

Can you get a login screen, or prompt, if you hit control-alt-delete or control-alt-backspace?

You may be able to kludge around this simply by using either the Lock Screen or Switch User options on the Exit button in the panel.

Good luck!
