based on ubuntu: Does this mean I'm facing the same privacy issues on ubuntu?

If I am using a distro that's based on Ubuntu.

Does this mean that I'm facing the same privacy issues as if I'm using ubuntu itself? (like the amazon incident)

or is it only related to the existence of the software itself? like an amazon-related software or so?

I'm not an Ubuntu user, so others may be able to provide more definitive detail here, but this thread may be of interest to you

It depends on the distro you are using, on the software it contains or which you have added, and on the state of your firewall.

So the answer is No, you're facing different ones.

Not necessarily. RMS is currently using Trisquel, which is based on Ubuntu.
