Apt-get remove & purge nvidia-kernel-common. safe?

Hi, I'm running breezy, and I just compiled and installed a custom kernel, 2.6.15. I now have to reinstall my nvidia drivers of course. So my question is, is it safe to remove nvidia-kernel-common using

apt-get remove --purge nvidia-kernel-common

I'm asking because when I try this command, i get this repsonce:

  linux-restricted-modules-amd64-generic* nvidia-kernel-common*

Is it safe to remove all of that along with nvidia-kernel-common??

Just uninstnall the reinstall the drivers and all should be well.
