Anti-Malware

Hi, Using Jaunty with all updates for a few months now. Lately in Firefox 3 I have a screen pop up that is from a company called Personal Antivirus, it is listed on Google as a scare site with malware. It gives me a warning telling me my computer contains various types of vulnerabilities and threats. I don't click on it for their scan, just close it, but then it starts scanning until I shut down Firefox. The site is listed as: "http://secure-antivirus-scannerv3.com"

Secondly, when I scan for virus using Clam, it gives me a possible virus listed as:

/home/mik/.mozilla/firefox/tlez1pye.default/Cach/D65609AFd01 PUA.Script.Packed-2

I don't think this is related to the malware, but sharing it anyway. I have quarantined the file and then deleted it, but it returned.

I have Firestarter installed and using it.

That is a cached file, in your firefox session. You can empty your entire cache in firefox. Use the "noscript" plugin.

PUA stands for potentially unwanted application. From messages I've found using Google, this will match some code from jQuery.

Thanks jschiwal, I disabled Noscript for some reason a few weeks ago and didn't notice it was missing. I enabled it, cleared the cache, and will also update my profile from 8.04 LTS! Thanks again.
