All new menu items end up under "Other" Ubuntu 13.10, Gnome Classic/Fallback

I just installed Ubuntu 13.10 and installed eclipse by downloading and extracting it. I then went to the menu settings (in 13.10 under "Sundry, Main Menu") and tried to add it as a menu item under "Programming".

It never showed up so I tried again. After a few tries I discovered that it was actually added, but to the menu section "Other" together with lots of other applications.

Does anyone know how to move it to "Programming" (or any other menu section)? I don't mind a bit of commandline-hacking to fix this, but I don't know where to start.

Please note as I mention in the topic, that I have Gnome configured to run in Gnome 2-mode (i.e. by installing "gnome-session-fallback").
