Accessing Edubuntu on My External Harddrive


Dear Gentlemen,

I have recently installed edubuntu on my External USB Harddrive now I need to how to make grub access it or how to make it run. I have tried 1 Suggestion and it didi not work. Here is the suggestion that does not work:

title edubuntu
root (hd1,<partion number>
kernel
initrd

I have tried this and it does not work or I may not have gotten everything set correctly. Please help me get this problem straitghened out.

... well yeah, that wont work. You need to close the brackets and specify a kernel and an initrd line. Oh, and the <partition number> should be an actual integer. These entries need to be in /boot/grub/menu.lst

It is usually helpful to post the actual file used instead of summarizing. And, where did you install GRUB to?
