A review of the Nylas N1 email client. While it is ostensibly extensible, there still aren't many plugins for it and the default behavior is fairly limited. Thunderbird, though nowhere as nice looking, is probably a better option for those serious about their email client.

The Nylas development team doesn't seem to be serious about anything but looks. It looks nice, but it does very little, and it's not even close to being worth what they propose to charge. I tried it, and tried to like it, but it doesn't do nearly enough. The lack of encryption is a deal-killer for me, and they don't seem to be at all concerned about incorporating it. It's worthless, IMO, and I had to abandon it. Thunderbird (Icedove) works. Looks are far less important to me than utility, and looking good alone is a losing proposition. If it works, I don't care what it looks like.
