GNU/Linux is not more support on ARM based windows 8 devices. If you purchase any hardware, you should free to choose your operating system and install on it. So if you want to run GNU/Linux on ARM based devices than forget it. From this decision of Microsoft, it seems that they are preparing for war with GNU/Linux operating system.
