I doubt it, anyone who tried to get friends/relatives to move to Linux can predict what happened. I can see people complaining insistently and constantly "How do I do...?" over and over and over not bothering to remember even the simplest answer/task. Even though the difference may not be much (email/WEB/spreadsheets), just one tiny little thing is enough to get the complain train going.

So I guess Munich has done what many here have done in that environment, just give up and went away

Edit:
Noticed this quote "software vendors such as SAP", I can see this being an issue. SAP support on a Linux Desktop has been degrading recently and I heard an optional 'secure login' type object will not be supported on Linux.
