Over the last five years, I've worked in various roles bringing high-performance computing (HPC) into the public cloud. It's been fascinating to watch the industry change from saying "You can't do HPC in the cloud" to "How can I do HPC in the cloud?" to "Why wouldn't I do HPC in the cloud?"Of course, HPC is just one narrow slice of the tech sector, but you can see that same pattern (albeit on different timelines) across the industry.
