LXer: Dell Launches Cheap Ubuntu-Powered Inspiron 15 3000 Series
Published at LXer:
Dell is one of the most important providers of Ubuntu-powered hardware, and the company has just released a new laptop called Inspiron 15 3000 Series Laptop Ubuntu Edition.
Back when it was easy to get Ubuntu on Dells in the late 2000-aughts, I got an Inspiron 1545n, with Ubuntu. It came with 8.04, but, by the time I purchased it, 9.04 was in release. With my hardware upgrades at time of purchase, I think it cost about $400.
I still have the machine. In the intervening years, I've doubled the RAM to 4GB and it's now running Slackware --Current.
