Gentoo is my preferred distro so I enjoy reading other's experience with it. This review is a good one but the whole "diary" thing is a bit misleading. I wasn't expecting "Dear Diary" or anything like that, I suppose I was just interested to see another writing style.
This article is basically a review written heavily in first-person and biased toward the author. The author isn't trying to convince anyone to use gentoo, simply writing about his experience. So I guess that is how it is intended to be "diary-like".
With that said, this is a pretty decent article and I plan on watching it to see how it progress. It definantly makes good reading and, as with any review I read, I have learned something new (I honestly never knew about ufed). If anyone is a gentoo user and enjoys reading about other's experience, this article is something worth looking at.
