Yast Kernel Install Problem

Everytime I try to install the new kernel from Yast (or most other packages in the openSUSE repository, for that matter, I end up with the following error:

ERROR(InstTarget:E_RpmDB_subprocess_failed)
rpmdb: PANIC: Invalid argument
rpmdb: PANIC: fatal region error detected; run recovery
error: db4 error(-30978) from dbcursor->c_put: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery
error: error(-30978) storing record synclink.ko into Basenames
rpmdb: PANIC: fatal region error detected; run recovery
error: db4 error(-30978) from dbcursor->c_get: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery
error: error(-30978) getting "synclinkmp.ko" records from Basenames index

There's a really really long list repeating the last 3 lines over and over again. Anyone know what the problem is?

Thanks,
Josh

Most probably a corrupted rpm database. Try db recovery:
http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/1999/01/ke_rpm-db.html
Code:
rpm --rebuilddb
