YaST Issue with trying to add installation sources
It adds them to the list no problem. But when I press Finish it never does. The longest I've waited is ten minutes before killing the process.
Is there a log somewhere which might give me an indication of what is going on?

I removed all the sources and started all over again, pressing Finish and restarting Installation Sources after each new repo. Now it is taking a long time with Guru (ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/suser-guru/rpm/10.1) whether I try to add it as http or ftp. Is there an issue with Guru?

There sure is a problem with Yast Package Manager and its something all know about. Right now, I have Yast2 package manager running. I launched it 30 minutes before and it hasn't finished loading yet !!
Personally I prefer smart package manager as it is robust and a lot faster ! It's easy to configure and use. Yet, occasionally I use Yast2 to download security patches.
Download smart from guru's site which comes preconfigured with several repositories. Smart handles dependencies better too.

Well it seems it's patience that I was lacking. After allowing the processes to run for longer than 10 minutes they eventually finished. Not used to waiting that long so I figured YaST must have hung.
Tried SMART, but it was only downloading at around 5kB/s. Is that a mirror issue?

Could be ! Or, may be its to do with your bandwidth. Are you on dial up ?
You can try searching for other mirrors. Just google for a list of repositories.

No I am on a 1Mbps line. I'll just have to change the repositories I suspect.
